    Dear Jordan,
What an awesome thing to do for a person your age. I know you will encounter many beautiful things. We have been to the rainforest in Belize and been tubing in caves which was great! We are at App State for baseball this weekend with Anthony. Anthony and Ron both say “hi.” Good luch and may God bless you and your missions.

Buddy, I’m so proud. I knew that God would teach you a lot, and it’s great to hear what specific things you are learning! I know you’ve got a long way ahead of you, but I can’t wait for you to get home and share your zeal for God with us once again.

Give Him all you’ve got Jordan, don’t retain anything from Him!

Philippians 1:3-11 (I delight in you, Jordan, for God is working in your life!)

Oh, how you have blessed me as I read how God is moving and working in you! I love reading your testimony of how God is drawing you into greater intimacy with Him. It is evident that the Lord is refining you and pouring His heart into yours! How sweet is that? May He continue to do “exceedingly above all you could ask or imagine” as you continue the journey…

Way to go, Jordan! All too often we are already in our old age when we realize that its all the small things that go by unnoticed that bring the most joy to our lives. God’s given you a most brilliant gift by showing you this in your youth. I can imagine how much your family misses you (I truly can!). I have no doubt you are making this distance count for eternal good. You are prayed for daily.

    J-man!

First of all, is that blood? Or ketchup?
    (I hope the latter.)

I’m going to open up my bible right quick and give you whatever my finger lands on. Some divine wisdom from God for you to think on. Here we go:
“So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.” John 13:34

I don’t even think that needs explaining. Sounds like the Holy Spirit knows that loving others is something that you value, and that you’re striving to do daily. Hope that encourages you a bit. God’s aiding and guiding you every step of the way. He’s got your back.

Going to bed now. Love you so much Jordan.

Jordan – our Thanksgiving will be truly different this year as for the past 18 years, you have been an integral part of our day of turkey & relatives & giving thanks. Our tradition is changing in that we normally go to Virginia, but this year Virginia relatives are coming to NC.

But you will be with us in spirit and we will set a place at the table for you. We will close our eyes and just like in “Hook” we will able to feel your presence as those lost boys imagined a feast and so it was. We are truly blessed as you are not one of the lost boys, you are a found boy, a young man who has a home and a family and many who love you dearly.

On this Thanksgiving, we will have so much more than usual to be thankful for, because you are safe and happy and doing what God has wired you to do – you have studied hard and trained well, so you are now stepping into phase II to convert God’s commands into actions, his words into service, and your training into practice. You will be a Thanksgiving blessing to those you come into contact with in Mexico. Go forth and do great works! We love you son !

    Happy Thanksgiving -Dad

    Jordan,

As your time on the boat comes to an end, I just want you to know how proud I am of you and all you have done and learned this first 3 months of your gap year. It has been so amazing to see how God has worked in your life and how he has worked through you to touch other people. I think you have inspired other people as well as your mom! What a joy it has been to see into your heart a bit through this blog.

I can’t tell you how much we will miss you over Thanksgiving. We’ll miss having you here to eat pumpkin muffins, pumpking pie and turkey!

We had an amazing evening last night in Thomasville with the Daraja Choir. I really hate that you missed getting to know them. “Our family” seemed so happy to see us and after hearing them sing and worsip they humg out with us for a long time, talking and telling us what was going on with them.

Take care of you, buddy, since I can’t!!

    Love you lots,
    Mom

Jordan, it has been great to hear your good news from Mexico and it sounds like it has been a great balance of hard work, fun with your group, and service and relationship building with your guest. I will agree that Christmas was different for all of us this year, but we had comfort in knowing you were doing God’s will, putting into practice your faith. Now that our break is over, Lauren will be heading back to Wilmington and Amy/Nic to school today, and I on my journey to identify what to do next with my life. Thus as one page is turned, another is begun.

We are excited for you as you count down the days with your YWAM team. I know they have become your famiy away from home for the last 5 months. Cherish each day you have left with them and enjoy your remaining time to prepare for going your seperate ways. You have built strong bonds that will allow you to be combined in spirit and linked through Christian service to make a difference in each corner of the world that your team members will touch.

We are excited for you as you prepare for your journey to Ireland and we pray that you will be a blessing to the YWAM base there and that your mentor will continue the work that has been started inside of you.

We are excited to count down the days until we can see you in the flesh and hug you again and hang out with you.

We love you so much Jordan and we are your biggest cheerleaders. Run the race, continue to run the race for all the right reasons. You inspire and humble us, and we love you.

Send more pictures… we really enjoy them.

    Hey man,
Well, Ireland certainly missed out on having you in the country. Irelands loss is NYC/CT’s gain. I am sure God can use your talents up in that cold atmosphere.

It was neat just to get to say hello to you while you were at church. I know mom and dad and the rest of the clan were really excited to have you home. Sounds like you had a blast while you were in Burlon.

As you know, we are really proud of you and what you are doing for the Kingdom. Just keep on truckin and let God lead.

Toss some snow balls down south way when you can. We forget what they look like.

    See ya…….
